a) the topic of the article.

The topic of this article is about the  Nexen Inc. shareholders  overwhelmingly voted in favour of a takeover of the Calgary-based energy company.

b) who the article is concerning

This article is concerning the people in China and Canada.

c) briefly describe the article

This article is about China buying some of Canada's enterprisers and China not letting Canada buy any of there's.

d) your opinion of the article

This isn't right. If we can't buy their enterprises we shouldn't let them buy ours. That's how free trade works. They're basically saying what's ours is ours and always will be, but what you have is negotiable.

e) does the news in the article affect you and your daily life; How?

This article doesn't affect my life because I don't live in Alberta or near the oil sands so it wont affect me. And if China buy's some enterprises from Canada it wont affect me. This may affect the market with oil or gas but I don't buy gas yet so it wont affect me.

  1. This is a very shocking action by the Chinese government to prevent Canada from buying its enterprises while purchasing some of Canada's. I have to say that I don't think this is the actual case and you might have misinterpreted the article because a country can't just stop others from investing in their enterprises. Everyone has the right to invest in what they want to and no government can stop citizens from other countries investing. I truly hope that this is not what the article meant because if China were to be doing this then they would be weakening Canada's economy by buying its enterprises and then preventing them from buying enterprises in return. This would give China too much control over Canada's business industry which could result in negative impacts towards Canadians.

  2. I do not think that this is fair on Canada's behalf. I understand why China would want to sell any of their enterprises but, if Canada is going out of their way to build a strong relationship with China by letting them buy an enterprise from Canada, I think that China should also do the same.
