Chiefs player kills girlfriend and himself

A Chiefs player shot and killed himself in front of the head coach and general manager after allegedly killing his girlfriend

(AP Photo/Ed Zurga, File). FILE - In this Sept. 30, 2012 file photo, Kansas City Chiefs inside linebacker Jovan Belcher (59) gestures at the line of scrimmage during an NFL football game against the San Diego Chargers in Kansas City, Mo.

The shootings involved linebacker Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend, now identified as 22-year-old Kasandra Perkins. Perkins and Belcher had a 3-month-old daughter together. Officials said Belcher, 25, shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the practice facility, where he shot and killed himself. Belcher approached Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli and head coach Romeo Crennel outside of the practice facility, thanked them for all they had done for him and shot himself in the head as police arrived.

I have seen something on the internet where people are saying RIP. I din that this is stupid because they are just saying this because he is a football player not paying attention to the fact that he just killed someone. This guy must of had something really on his mind to kill himself. There are many things that can piss you off in life and that may last for awhile but you got to hang your head high and tough it threw and not doing anything that will affect other people in your life or others, its just how life works and your job to do the right thing and Jovan Belcher didn't do the right move because no matter how hard something it is or how difficult something is, its not worth your own life to take because life is a true gift.

Taliban launched failed attack on joint U.S. - Afghan base

Taliban launched failed attack on joint U.S. - Afghan base

This article is bout a Taliban suicide bomber attack at the joint U.S.-Afghan air base in eastern Afghanistan. The Taliban detonating explosives at the gate and sparking a gun battle that lasted at least two hours with American helicopters firing down at militants before the attackers were defeated. The attackers and at least five Afghans were killed, officials said. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack. It was the largest clash at the Jalalabad air base since February, when a suicide car bombing at the gate triggered an explosion that killed nine Afghans, six of them civilians.
I find that this is a tragic event because the Taliban are ruling many parts of Afghanistan so, they think they can run around any where and kill who ever and take what ever. I find that even if we take out their leader Osama bin Laden they still have brothers or another Alpha will take his place. I find that we have to negotiate with them and try to set some guide lines and if they are not taken up Canada and other countries around the world will come in and take stronger force.

Meet the man with world's largest upper arms

Meet the man with world's largest upper arms

This article is about Moustafa Ismail of Massachusetts who has the widest upper arms and the difficulties he has. Some difficulties are finding shirts with sleeves that fit his 31-inch muscles without dwarfing his 5-foot-11 frame.

I think this is pretty cool since he set the world record for the largest upper arm and i'm wandering what he is going to do in Massachusetts with the money he earned from the fame and advertising it in the state of Massachusetts. I also wander why he doesn't work any other part of his body so its all even. This article doesn't affect me but it might affect the people in the State of Massachusetts because  now they are in the news so their popularity has gone up and it may be good for there economy.

Liberals  still trying to figure out primary-style election of new leader

Delegates line up to cast their ballots for the new executive the Liberal Party convention in Ottawa on Jan. 14, 2012. (Peter Power /The Globe and Mail)

This article is about the Liberal Party not asking its supporters to pay a fee to vote for a new leader. The next leader will, instead, be chosen by a process that bears at least a passing resemblance to the American primary system. The leadership race formally got under way Wednesday, when the national executive set the ground rules for candidates and announced the dates for the leaders’ debates. As approved at a party conference earlier this year, supporters are not required to be fee-paying, card-carrying members of the Liberal Party of Canada. Simply by declaring themselves supporters, they can cast a vote for the next leader. I like what the Liberal Party is doing by not charging a fee for its supporters to vote for a new leader but I also think that why would you ever make your supporters pay to vote for a new leader, if they want a new leader they shouldn't have to pay for one. This doesn't affect me now because I am a fan of the Conservatives but you never know in the future when i have my own house, job and family my opinions may change. When we did the Spectrum Quiz online I was almost exactly in the middle so it could go either way for me in the future.

New $20 bill doesn't work in some vending machines

new20

The most widely used money bill in Canada just got a little bit harder to use.
This article is about several vending machines across the country that usually accept $20-bills but don’t have the necessary software to take in the new polymer $20-bills. The bills go in, and then, the machines just spit them back out immediately. The problem has affected commuters who use Ticket Vending Machines. An example of this is a spokeswoman for GO Transit, said there are about 25 new machines called TVMs that do not accept the polymer bill. The issue was discovered about 10 days ago. People say the new bill is safer, cheaper, greener and has sophisticated security elements that make it “a world first”, but almost to safe. The Bank of Canada is rolling out the polymer bills with enhanced security features to circumvent counterfeiters. New $50 and $100 bills were introduced over the past year, and new $5 and $10 bills are scheduled to debut in 2013. I think that this is a bad start for the new $20 bill and that Canada should have tested it out on TVM's because a lot of people take buses and subway's so if it doesn't work then many people will get angry and start to argue about the new $20 bill's features like being safer, cheaper, greener and has sophisticated security elements that make it “a world first." This doesn't affect me because I don't take the bus or subway, but it does affect some of my family members who live in Toronto that take the Subway to the Jays game or the Raptors.

New Canadian $20 bill goes into circulation today

New Canadian $20 bill goes into circulation today

The new Canadian $20 bill, which goes into circulation Wednesday, follows on the heels of the polymer $100 and $50 bills issued over the past year.

Canada's new plastic $20 bills go into circulation today.
The polymer bill (plastic like bill) is set to be issued less than a week before Remembrance Day, and pays tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of Canadian military men and women. The back of the bill features the Canadian National Vimy Ridge Memorial. On Tuesday, the new bill will get its official launch at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. The Bank of Canada began issuing polymer money a year ago, starting with the $100 bill in November and followed with the $50 note in March. The polymer notes are more secure and durable than earlier bills, according to the bank's website, which says they "are easy to check and hard to counterfeit."The $20 bill is the country's most widely used bank note.
New plastic $5 and $10 notes are scheduled to be issued by the end of 2013.
I think this is could idea for Canada because its nice to have a good looking bill and its also better for the economy if we have a bill that is hard to rip and harder to counterfeit. I also like the design they have picked by putting the Vimy Ridge Memorial on the back of it because I find that people don't give enough credit and recognize  the young men who gave there lives to make Canada a free and independent place. I am excited to see the new bills and also excited to see the new $5 and $10 dollar bill by the end of this year.

This article affects me because I will be seeing and using the new $20 dollars bill and it will boost the economy and it will be good for a little change.

Reserve Bomb Plot Foiled

New York Federal Reserve bomb plot foiled

Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, 21, was arrested in a sting operation

The story about the Reserve bomb plot is about a Bangladeshi man who came to the United States to wage jihad was arrested in an elaborate FBI sting on Wednesday after attempting to blow up a fake car bomb outside the Federal Reserve building in Manhattan. Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis the man who  arrested, went to a warehouse to help assemble a 1,000-pound  bomb using inert material, according to a criminal complaint. He also asked an undercover agent to videotape him saying, "We will not stop until we attain victory or martyrdom," the complaint said. The Agents grabbed the 21-year-old Nafis armed with a cellphone he believed was rigged as a detonator  after he made several attempts to blow up the bomb inside a vehicle parked next to the Federal Reserve. This is crazy and this is why we middle-east people get stop at the boarders because stuff like this happens and I know that not everyone from the middle-east is a terrorist, but they need to have some checks every now and then just to make sure.
